MTV have posted an article, accompanied with a video of Ian talking about how Twilight’s success was probably the reason behind the making of The Vampire Diaries. The video is behind the cut or in our media archive here :].
MTV.com – “Vampires are very hot. It’s fun playing a vampire,” Somerhalder said. “You’re 200 years old. You can fly around. You can eat beautiful girls — well, you can suck on their neck. I don’t physically cut them up and eat them. That would be a little sick.”
Also, executive producer Julie Pec has said that “all signs point to yess!!” regarding TVD having a panel at this years Comic Con! It would be amazing to see all of the cast there so keep your fingers crossed! Thanks to V-D.net for that info!

As you can see the full version of Vampire Diaries Web has now been launched. We have been working behind the scenes on the content and media and are now finished, so we hope you like all the new things the site has to offer!

The CW has released a new five minute extended trailer which was apparently shown at the upfront. This trailer has lots of new footage and also gives us a look at some new characters. Screen captures are in the gallery and the video is in our new video archive you can also view it behind the cut.

Yesterday the girls, Nina, Kayla, Katerina and Candice (Elena, Vickie, Bonnie and Caroline) attended GBK’s Pre MTV Pool Party! I’ve only been able to find three pictures from the event, but hopefully I’ll find more soon! Enjoy these pictures for now.

L. J. Smith has updated her blog and has officially given her stamp of approval for the pilot. Like many fans of the books (including me), L.J. Smith was skeptical of the show and of all the deviations from the books. However L.J.Smith, after having been assured by her agent, seems to be happy with it! Read the blog in full here.
